The French architects have proposed to build a ship-prison Source:

Without a doubt, people who grossly violated the law should be punished. While the fantastic works describe prison of the future so that they are very different from our usual places of detention. "But why not bring some ideas to life?" thought the group of French architects and introduced the concept of a ship-prison.

For such an unusual project meet the architects Axel de Stampa, Sylvain Mako and Guillaume Devaux from the Paris school of architecture. Name the new project sounds like a Panama Jail Papers, which reflects 2 things: first is that floating prison was drifting in international waters near Panama, and the second reveals to us the first alleged prisoners — the defendants in the case about "Panama records", which leaked confidential documents to the Panamanian law, the company Mossack Fonseca & relating to information about private property and operations politicians of Panama. In addition, the company has been a leader in the industry, but following the leak it suffered huge losses.

As for the prison-ship, according to reports, the camera of prisoners will be placed on special cables above the deck, and the camera will be "semi-open".

That is, on the one hand will be the lattice, and on the other — the ocean. In total, the project planned to build 3300 holding cells, each with an area of about 9 square meters. In addition there will be administrative buildings, control center, canteen, workshop.

In the bow of the ship will be located Playground, and in the Central — greenhouses for growing of agricultural crops. Cabin staff will be placed in the aft part of the hold — apparatus for desalination of water.

Of Course, the authors have yet to finalize many details, but even now the project seems at least curious. And, of course, I wonder at what distance from the shore must drift the ship so the prisoners had no opportunity to escape from the semi-open chambers and to reach land by swimming?
