Ate something bitter? Drink a Cup of coffee! Source:

Today, millions of people start their day with a Cup of coffee. For some it's a way to Wake up, though depending on body coffee acts differently. Others consider it almost the most important drink in your life. I'm not talking about the number of coffee shops and other establishments that offer enjoy the aromatic beverage, which even in the smallest town is incalculable. Scientists still can't agree, a useful coffee or no: yet some say that even two cups can greatly harm heart, others make a statement that 25 cups of coffee won't hurt you. However, a new study has discovered a previously unknown effect of coffee on human: and it is including a caffeine-free beverage.

The journal with the telling title Foods , in which scientists talk about their discovery. According to them, coffee is able to greatly enhance a person's responsiveness to sweet and Vice versa, to reduce it to Gorky. Then there are those who drink too much coffee, getting worse in the future recognize the bitter taste. I was just wondering why it's so easy to eat a spoonful of mustard? While I drink coffee several times a day.

does the coffee taste

Most Important discovery is that the taste sensations of a person affects not only regular coffee, but drink decaf. Although earlier researchers believed that caffeine has an effect on the perception of bitter substances, and the sensitivity to sweet because of the coffee decreases. Here, it turns out, the opposite is true.

To find out, researchers conducted a study on 156 participants. They first tried or smelled the solutions of different concentrations, from very sweet to very bitter. For the preparation of solutions used sugar, citric acid, sodium chloride and quinine (incredibly bitter thing). The participants then drank a Cup of coffee, took a few minutes and they again tried the same solutions. The third does not drink regular coffee, and decaf.

Regardless of which coffee drinking participants, both beverages increased sensitivity to sweet and reduced — to Gorky. That is, a solution of sugar, they felt even better than before, but the solution with quinine to recognize it was already more difficult. Among the participants were those who drank coffee constantly, several cups a day, and they have a sensitivity to bitter turned out to be even lower. But they caught sweet even in the smallest concentration.

For the purity of the experiment, the researchers compared the sensitivity to sweet, bitter, salty and sour after a Cup of coffee and glass of water. Interestingly, sour and salty taste no water, no coffee, almost no impact, but the perception of sweet and bitter varies.

Measure of sensitivity to tastes. Left — water and regular coffee, right — water and caffeine-free beverage.

what is better to drink coffee

So, grab a Cup of coffee with some "Snickers" or regular milk chocolate may not be the best idea as coffee only enhance the taste sensations from sweet. And this combination in the end could be for you sugary, although separately these two products can be used without problems. Therefore, in the coffee shops sometimes give the Cup of espresso a piece or two of dark chocolate. Coffee dulls the bitterness in chocolate and in the end, all together it's delicious. I know many people who can't stand dark chocolate in everyday life, but will not refuse a couple of slices combined with freshly brewed coffee.

In Addition to the change of taste, coffee also acts on vascular tone. Some of the vessels to dilate. For example, the vessels of the heart, muscles or kidneys. That is, they relax, thereby producing a "relaxing" effect. But here we are talking about coffee, which contains caffeine: when it comes to blood is a kind of "charging" when the vessels is contracted, relaxed. This is especially dangerous in the presence of vascular and cardiac diseases, with heart disease and pregnant women .

So it is better to drink in moderation, including coffee. But if you want even more to spend time with a Cup of espresso (one!), be sure to visit our

Coffee is not only delicious, but sometimes useful.
